Responsibilities
• Perform actuarial audits in support of the audits of financial statements in a variety of GAAPs such as HKFRS, IFRS, PRC GAAP, US GAAP, and other European standards
• Review the actuarial basis, methods, assumptions and related practice
• Review and analyse the actuarial technical works, including but not limited to the computation of reserve, embedded value, value of new business, source of earning etc
• Identify and help resolve complex audit and actuarial issues
• Manage or participate in projects to deliver quality audits and advisory services
• Conduct necessary research on the market trend, industry innovation etc
• Meet with clients regularly to obtain updates on their business, discussing issues, presenting key findings, and making practical recommendations.
• Support Audit and Advisory professionals
• Play a key role in preparing presentations, proposal, and actuarial reports
• Deliver high quality work assigned by partners and director in a timely manner
Experience
• A minimum of two years relevant actuarial experience in the life insurance industry with a strong focus in financial reporting
• Fellowship member of an internationally recognised actuarial professional body is preferred
• Strong technical skills and ability to research actuarial issues in a wide variety of GAAPs; exposure to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act is desirable
• Ability to make sound business judgments in assessing the significance of issues and developing value-added recommendations
• Excellent communication skills in both oral and written English and Chinese
• Self-starter with good analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem solving
• Ability to multi-task, be flexible, meet tight deadlines and work under pressure
